Back from Summer Camp

I am back from camp. We enjoyed two days on the USS Yorktown in Chalreston. SC, and then an entire week at Camp Davy Crocket in Morristown, TN. The weather in Tennesee was amazing. It was about 79 during the day and 65 at night.

I had a great time, and so did my son. Boy Scout Camping is much different from Cub Scout Camping. In Boy Scout Camping, the boys are responsible for everything. The parents do not attend the merit badge classes, and the Scouts are responsible for finding their way through the camp by themselves. I was so proud of my son. He got himself a map, and navigated the campsite by himself. I hung back at the camp with the other parents and relaxed most of the day. I saw Grego at meal times and on Friday he had a free day, and I spent most of the day with him.

Grego at first was scared and concerned about finding his way around camp. Then he got his confidence back and had the time of his life. His words not mine.

For those parents that have their son crossing over in February, I highly recommend sending their son to Summer Camp. He will have memories that will last a lifetime.
